How to reach us
The contact form on this page is the fastest route for detailed questions, since it lets you include the specifics that make an answer useful. We aim to respond within a few business days.
- Visit the office 770 Innovation Way, San Jose, CA 95134, USA
- Call during business hours +1-408-555-9539 — Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Write to the team [email protected] — corrections, topic suggestions, and questions all land in the same inbox.
What to send us
Questions about how a workflow fits your situation work best. Something like "we process about four hundred vendor invoices a month across two entities and our approvals are all by email" gives us enough to answer usefully.
Corrections are welcome too, especially on the comparison and integration pages where details change. If you've found something that no longer matches what a vendor publishes, tell us and we'll verify before updating.
Helpful to include
- Roughly how many invoices, expense claims, or reconciliations you handle in a month.
- Which systems are already in place and who currently approves what.
- For a correction: the page you read and the detail that no longer matches the vendor.
We can't advise on your own books, file anything for you, or comment on a vendor contract. If your question needs a licensed accountant's judgement, we'll say so.
What we can and can't help with
So you know what to expect before you write, here is where our scope ends. If your question needs a licensed accountant's judgement, we will say so rather than offering an opinion we should not give.
Inside our scope
Explaining the workflow
We can explain how invoice capture, coding, approval routing, expense reporting, and reconciliation work, and how to think about evaluating tools — including what to ask a vendor and which controls tend to matter most.
Outside our scope
Advice on your own books
We cannot provide accounting advice for your specific books, file anything on your behalf, or comment on a vendor contract. Tax filing, payroll compliance, and legal entity formation sit outside what we cover.
Where we sit
The editorial office is in San Jose. If you are nearby and would rather talk something through in person, call ahead and we will find a time.
Parking is available on site. The entrance is on the ground floor of the Innovation Way building.
Most messages get a reply within a few business days
Questions that need research take longer, and we would rather send a considered answer than a fast one. If you do not hear back within a week, resend — occasionally a message lands in the wrong folder.
Questions also shape what we write. When the same topic comes up repeatedly, it usually means the existing content was not clear, so we revise the page rather than only answering the email. We do not publish your name or details without asking.
Suggest a topic
If there is a workflow you would like explained, send the suggestion with a sentence about your situation. We prioritise topics that come up more than once and that fall inside our scope. Tax filing, payroll compliance, and legal entity formation are outside what we cover, and we will say so rather than write thin coverage of them.
Report an error
Tell us which page and what is incorrect
We verify against the vendor's own documentation before editing, and we note material corrections rather than silently rewriting. Accuracy is the only reason this site is worth reading, so corrections are genuinely welcome.
Email [email protected] with the page name and the detail that looks wrong.
Before you write
Check the FAQ first, since it covers the most common questions about cost, implementation, and controls. The guides go deeper on each stage of the workflow. If your question spans a few of them, mention it and we will point you to the right page.
- AP Automation Guide How invoices arrive, how they are matched, and where a pay run can stall.
- Invoice Capture and Coding Reading a document into structured data, and where coding decisions get made.
- Approval Workflows and Controls Routing, thresholds, and the audit trail that backs an approval up.
- Expense Reporting Automation Turning receipts and card activity into a report someone can actually review.
- Reconciliation and Month-End Close Matching the ledger to the bank, and closing the period without a scramble.
- Accounting System Integration What has to line up between the automation tool and the accounting system.
One more thing
Still not sure where your question fits?
Send it anyway. If it belongs to a page we have already written, we will point you there. If it does not, it is often the start of a new one. For vendor pricing or contract terms we will send you to the vendor, since we do not have access to that information and will not guess at it.
